The Securitas Centre for Professional Development is responsible for designing and deploying unsurpassed security training programs. Management staff and security guards are given a clear training path and the required tools. With ongoing classroom learning, on-line training, and on-the-job training, we are constantly learning and growing.
We are CGSB Federally Certified and Provincially Certified to provide government-approved training. Our extensive training program has many levels, each with progressively more detailed training for more senior security guards and staff. Candidates must pass the Securitas and Provincial training programs prior to being employed as a Securitas security guard. There are more than 100 training courses some of which include:

- Remote monitoring
- Access control
- Alarm systems
- Emergency response
- Customer service
- AED/ CPR/ First-aid
- Metal detectors/ wanding
- Loss prevention
- Dealing with difficult people
- Note and report writing
- Legal aspects of security
Plus many other courses, including specialized training for specific markets such as financial institutions, high-rise buildings, and healthcare facilities. Our extensive training programs ensure we can provide quality security services to our valued clients.
