Over the last 20 years, new technology has made it easier, faster and more cost effective to remotely detect security problems in homes and businesses.  In the past, alarm companies relied on law enforcement to respond to every alarm. But with bigger security threats and a shrinking budget for both the public and private sectors, a new way of managing day-to-day risk was bound to emerge.
